What's New
Stay up to date with the latest features and improvements
Improved Discover Page Latest
The Discover page now lets your browse shows with an infinite scroll based on genres and channels/streaming services. Want to know what's coming to Netflix next? Select "Netflix" from the dropdown menu, and everything you see will be sorted from newest to oldest. Note: often these shows are so new that they have no thumbnail yet.
TV Showtimes & Timezone Settings
The calendar is now much more accurate. Every non-streaming show has an air time, which makes for a smoother external calendar subscription experience. For the best experience, visit the Settings page, set your preferred timezone, and never miss an episode!
Update Display Name
Users can now update their display name in the Settings menu. This does not change the way you log in to EpCal.
Sync With External Calendars
Do you want your TV calendar to sync with your Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar? Visit the "Calendar" page and click "Subscribe" to get started!
Android App Beta Test
EpCal is getting an Android app! A select set of users have been added as beta testers. If everything goes well, the Android app should be publicly available within the coming weeks.
An iPhone app will be developed soon after.
Dismiss All Notifications
Is one of your friends adding dozens of anime shows every day and flooding you with notifications? Now you can easily scroll through notifications and use the "dismiss all" button to get rid of them with one click!
Quality of Life Improvements
1. Unwatched page has buttons for viewing show details, archiving, and deleting shows
2. Settings now has a toggle to start your calendar on Sunday instead of Monday
3. Search has autocomplete
4. Search shows how many of your friends track a given show (if any)
5. Dark Mode applies correctly to "Friend" views (profile, shows, and shows in common)
Shows In Common
On the "Friends" page (https://epcal.tv/friends/) you now have the option to view "Shows in Common". It will display the latest episode you each watched for every show you have in common.
Archive Seasons!
Ever have the desire to track a show, but you don't want to commit to every season? Now you can!
Let's say you started watching "Law & Order" in 2020, but you don't want to go back and watch the earlier seasons. Now you can visit the show's detail page and "archive" individual seasons so that they don't show up in your Unwatched queue, but everything you do watch still gets counted.
If you're done with a show and don't want to watch any new content, you can always archive the whole show too. All of this is also reversible!
Bug Nub
Found a bug or have a feature idea? Click the red bug button in the bottom-left corner to send me feedback. I read every submission!
Dark Mode Toggle
I added a dark mode! You can toggle it by hovering over your username and clicking Settings or by visiting https://www.epcal.tv/settings/
Database Cleanup
We cleaned up our database to ensure accuracy. Episodes that existed in EpisodeCalendar but do not exist in TVMaze (our data source) have been removed. Your watch history remains intact, though you may have had to mark off a few old episodes.
Beta Launch!
Beta launches with basic features for friends and family.
